Paris Day 4

June 25, 2007

Today was a very day in Paris.

We met at 10 a.m. and heading on the metro to St. Chappell. This is a church that is almost entirely stain glass windows. It was beautiful of course.

I thought it was also neat because they had painted gold stars on a blue ceiling.

After St. Chappell we headed to Notre Dame Cathedral. This is the front view.

We were not allowed to take pictures of the interior so I had to just sketch it.

We then went to the Pompidou. This is a modern art museum and was designed with the idea of having it inside out.

It provided a great city view.

There was the coolest pink bar up in the restaurant.

There was a great Phillip Stark exhibit. With all of his chairs that he has designed.

There were many great pieces of art that I really liked so here are just a few of my favorite.

After the Pompidou we walked a little ways and took a rest in the park.

Then we made it to the Louvre. This is the famous museum which holds so many different pieces of art. They say that if you went and spent just one minute in front of every piece it would take four months. So we manly focused on the architecture of the building, saw the Mona Lisa and the furniture display.

I would have to say that the Le Victorie de Samothrace was my favorite by far. It is so elegant and beautiful.
